Job Search Advice Focus Your Efforts

Job Search Advice Focus Your EffortsJob Search Advice Focus Your EffortsDear SaraIve been looking for a job for a few months now. Searching for a position is depressing- Im either overqualified or not qualified enough. And thats when I actually do get a response from a hiring manager. What would you suggest?TomDear Tom-I know firsthand how frustrating it can be to look for work thats one reason we offer a plethora ofjob searchadvice. You feel like youre in limbo, and its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Since youre saying that sometimes youre told that youre both overqualified and under-qualified for positions, I think you need to reassess what type of job youre looking for. It sounds like you might be applying for a broader spectrum of positions as opposed to specific jobs where your skill set can be best utilized. When youre job searching, you can feel as if youre at the mercy of hiring managers. Perhaps going back to school or taking an verbunden course can help you better prepare for the positions where your skills might need some updating. Taking a class or attending seminars in your field can positively impact your emotional well-being, too. Youll feel good about yourself as youre doing something to move yourself one step forward towards being able toace the interviewand land a new position. And as for the jobs that youre being told youre overqualified for, I would suggest reading through those job descriptions again. If you are truly overqualified, being hired for that position might not prove to be that interesting for you a few months after youve started working. After all, you should always feel as if youre learning something new, growing and being emotionally stimulated in your job. So instead, you might look for positions which match as closely as possible to your past work experience with your knowledge and skills- with room to grow. That way, you can hopefully find a position that youre passionate about and challenges you emotionally .Heres to successful job searchingSaraSince 2007, we have helped over 350,000 job seekers in their search for telecommuting and flexible jobs. 97.5% of our members are satisfied with our services. What questions do you have about flexible work options?
